The first term of the 2014 / 15 academic year is over and all our teachers are still working in schools.
Fatoumata and Charlotte are qualified teachers now and continue to teach at Mansa Colley Bojang Nursery School. The salaries for these qualified teachers is paid for through child sponsorship and not through our charity. An important link with Sponsor A Gambian Child. Congratulations to Fatoumata on the recent birth of her child.
One of our newly sponsored teachers, Binta is working at Kitty Community Nursery School, having started in September 2014. We wish her well.
Joko continues to work at the school at Kobisala in Sanyang village. Whilst Ellen has moved to a small village school in Bessi. Both Joko and Ellen are in their second year of training.
We also welcome Philip, who joined the staff at Mansa Colley Bojang Nursery School as a qualified teacher in September 2014. Philip received sponsorship for his final year as a PTC student from SAGT.
Meanwhile, Jack is well on his way to completing his final year and taking a great interest in extra computing courses. Steve gets the occasional e mail and message on facebook!
Fatou Sanneh is also in her second year of training at Mansa Colley and receiving some excellent support from Charlotte, one of our newly qualified teachers.
A trip to The Gambia is lined up for 2015, so we look forward to meeting everyone again and spending some time with the new teachers.
