As Covid 19 continues to affect the daily lives of us all, we are still working with our Gambian colleagues to support their teacher training. Most schools remain closed and people in The Gambia face restrictions, including the compulsory wearing of masks. We are still initiating a sponsorship programme for a further 7 teachers this year, all of whom are current students of the college but are unable to complete their courses due to lack of funds. SAGT is providing that funding. All 7 teachers have been selected by the Early Childhood Development Association, (West Coast Region) ECDA.
There is no possibility of a visit to The Gambia in 2020 for obvious reasons, but we remain in regular contact with the ECDA and some of the teachers too. As far as we know, none of our friends and colleagues have been infected by Covid 19. May it remain this way.
